Play and Learn

Our supported playgroup meets on a Wednesday morning from 10am-12pm during the school term.  The playgroup is coordinated by trained workers who have had many years experience working with children and families and are raising families of their own.

A variety of play-based educational activities are set up to enhance the children’s learning and curiosity in all areas of development.  The playgroup caters for parents/carers with children aged 0-5 years with  appropriate activities for all ages.

It is a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment where parents can meet other parents, enjoy a cuppa and engage in a variety of activities with their children. We encourage Play and Learn members to become involved in their child/children’s learning through a number of parent-assisted activities. During the warmer months we set up activities in the fenced outdoor area to encourage active play.

During the term we invite a variety of guest speakers and visitors to the playgroup to enhance the learning environment; we invite Play and Learn members to express their interests and suggestions of guest speakers to attend.

We offer transport to participants who live locally and would be otherwise unable to attend; Play and Learn members who live in close proximity to our location are able to use the provided transport on wet weather and cold days.

Play and Learn is cost free, although  we ask that parents please bring some fruit to be cut up and shared for morning tea and a hat in the warmer months.
